框外的思维

网际网络可以说是二十世纪末年的无意的伟大发明。谁说历史是必然的？这不是个偶然的好例子吗？在网上，时常收到朋友转寄的各式各样文件，内容有无聊的、有美丽的，有高逸的、有假造的，态度有洞察人生的，有天真的，有世故的、有励志的，有幽默的，型类有知识性的、有哲学性的，有宗教性的。。。。不一而足。收到自己喜欢的，就常常转寄与朋友分享，转来转去，同样的文件，常常又转回来。有些事隔多年，又再见面；而见面时，它已改头换脸，以新面目，重现人间。看来文件也有生命似的，在不断发展着。

近日收到一篇求职的问答卷的一部分，觉得可爱，把它译出，以飨喜欢读中文多过读英文的朋友。同时，也把英文原文留下，让爱看英文的朋友也有机会分享。

[You are driving along your car on a wild, stormy night, it's
raining heavily, when suddenly you pass by a bus stop, and you see
three people waiting for a bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.

2. An old friend who once saved your life.

3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing very well that
there could only be one passenger in your car?

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of
a job application.

* You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus
you should save her first;

* or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and
this would be the perfect hence to pay him back.

* However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

在一个狂风暴雨的夜晚，你在郊外驾车经过公车站时，看见三个人在等公车：

1． 一个看似病得非常严重的老妇，

2． 一个救过你一命的老友，

3． 一个你梦寐以求的理想伴侣。

若你只能载一个人。你会载谁？

想清楚了才继续读下去。。。。。。

这个道德上的两难曾被用在求职的问答题中。

*你也许会选择载老妇，把她的生命从频死中救活过来；

*或许会选择载你的老友，以报答他的救命之恩；

*但你可能因此再也找不到你的理想伴侣。

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble
coming up with his answer.。


His answer:

"I would give the car keys to my Old friend and let him take the lady
to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the
partner of my dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought
limitations... and begin to "Think Outside of the Box"!

那位从两百多人中被选中的求职者毫无困难地作出这样的回答。

“我会把车钥匙交给我的老友，让他把女士载到医院去。我自己则留下来陪伴我的梦中伴侣等公车”

有时候，如果我们能放弃顽固的思想限界 ，我们会有收获。。。会开始在框框之外思维。]
